Tom McKean

Tom is a Solicitor in our Agriculture and Natural Resources team. He deals primarily with renewable energy matters and works closely with Edd Johnson and the wider team on large-scale solar and battery projects for landowners.

He also has experience in commercial property transactions, including landlord and tenant matters, and commercial purchase and sale agreements.

Tom qualified as a Solicitor in September 2024. Prior to carrying out his training contract with Roythornes, he graduated from Sheffield University with a History degree and a master’s degree at Nottingham University. He completed the GDL and LPC at the University of Law. While re-training for a career in law, Tom worked in procurement for a manufacturer of MV switchgear for the naval, rail, and utility sectors.

Outside of work, Tom has taken part in charity trekking expeditions up Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya.
