Thomas is currently in the fourth seat of his Training Contract in our Living Department where he assists on a wide range of residential development matters, including site acquisitions and development, planning and infrastructure agreements.
He began his training contract in September 2024. His first seat was in the Commercial Property Department based in Spalding, where he gained experience acting for corporate occupiers and investors, dealing with landlord and tenant matters, and acting for both lenders and borrowers on commercial and agricultural secured finance transactions.
His second seat was in our Private Client team, based in Spalding, acting primarily for agricultural clients in tax and succession planning, trust administration, preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and estate administration, assisted by his previous experience in property law.
For Thomas’ third seat, he relocated to our Birmingham office where he worked across our Private Client and Private Wealth Disputes departments, building on his knowledge of estate, tax and succession planning, and trusts, working for high-net-worth clients and gained experience in contentious private client matters.
Thomas initially undertook work experience with the firm while at university as part of the Roythornes Bursary Scheme, joining full-time after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2019. He completed his LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law (Manchester) in 2023, achieving a Distinction
