Matthew Campbell

Matthew commenced his Training Contract with Roythornes in September 2025 and is currently undertaking a seat in the Commercial Litigation team.

During his training contract, Matthew has gained experience across a range of practice areas. He began in the Agricultural Property team before completing a seat in Corporate & Commercial, providing him with valuable insight into both transactional and contentious legal work.

Prior to joining Roythornes, Matthew worked within a Commercial Property team at another law firm, where he developed a strong foundation in property law. He also gained experience with the Public Prosecution Service in Northern Ireland, specialising in indictable and serious offences, which enhanced his analytical abilities, attention to detail and experience in managing complex legal matters.

Matthew holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Queen's University Belfast and a BA in Public Relations from Sheffield Hallam University. Demonstrating his commitment to a career in law, he self-studied for and successfully completed the SQE qualification.

Drawing on experience gained in the public and private sectors, Matthew brings a well-rounded perspective to his training contract. His varied background, combined with exposure to agricultural property, corporate and commercial matters, and commercial litigation, enables him to support clients across a broad range of legal issues while continuing to develop his expertise.
