Martin Jinks
Martin is a construction lawyer with significant experience in a wide range of transactional and non-transactional work.
Martin leads our expanding Construction and Engineering team specialising in advice on construction contracts, in a wide range of sectors including FMCG order fulfilment (groceries, clothing etc), agri-food (grain stores, poultry processing units etc), house building, and energy (solar, AD etc).
Before joining Roythornes, Martin was a Director for a leading materials handling systems integrator and has a particular expertise in the contractual issues involved in the implementation and maintenance of large-scale automation projects.
Martin's recent work includes:
- Acting as the main contractor for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of empty tote connections conveyor systems for one of the UK’s largest online supermarkets, based on I Mech E (MF/1). This involved sites in the UK, Europe and USA
- Advising on the negotiation of a robotic handling contract between a major supermarket, materials handling integrator and their robot subcontractor
- Acting for the Employer in relation to procuring the design, supply installation and support of plant and control systems for a large vertical farm installation, based on the I Chem E (red book)
- Advising a large grain production and marketing business in relation to the construction aspects of what will be the largest and most modern oat-processing facility in Europe, based on the JCT DB 2016 contract
- Advising a residential housing property developer in relation to its development contract with a local authority and its downstream professional appointment, design and build contract and collateral warranties
