Jess Shipley

Solicitor

Jess is a Solicitor in our Private Client team, based at the Alconbury office. She advises individuals and families on a broad range of private client and succession planning matters, including the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate administration, trusts, and estate and inheritance tax planning.

Jess takes the time to understand each client’s personal circumstances, priorities and objectives, enabling her to provide advice that is both practical and tailored to the individual. She recognises that private client matters can often arise at significant or difficult points in a client’s life and approaches her work with compassion and empathy. She is known for her friendly and approachable manner, combined with providing clear and technically sound advice.

Before joining Roythornes, Jess trained at a highly regarded East Anglian law firm, gaining experience across a number of practice areas, including Private Client, Family, Employee Incentives and Commercial Real Estate, with a particular exposure to SIPPs and SSAS. This breadth of experience allows her to take a practical and commercially aware approach to her advice, drawing on her wider understanding of tax-advantaged pension and trust arrangements, business structures and personal and family considerations.

Jess attended the University of Warwick from 2019 to 2022, where she founded the Warwick Street Law initiative and led the Women’s Project. She remains actively involved in legal outreach and community engagement initiatives. Jess subsequently completed SQE1 and SQE2 at the University of Law before qualifying as a Solicitor.
