Helen is a Senior Associate in our Natural Resources team and joined Roythornes in March 2023. With an background in Commercial Property, she has extensive experience of energy and natural resource projects, which include battery, solar, wind and AD plant transactions. She acts for farmers, landowners as well as developers across the sector.
She is committed to providing quality legal advice and exceptional client care. Helen’s reputation is for being pragmatic and commercially aware, whist also seeing the bigger picture on projects.
Helen is particularly keen to understand and navigate on behalf of her clients the new connections reform system, which has been introduced by NESO, especially following the NESO grid connection reforms which have taken place during the course of 2025.
Recent projects that Helen has worked upon, include:-
- Acting for a landowner in relation to an NSIP project with co located solar and battery technology across a 3,500 acres site with a total of 500MW export capacity.
- Acting for multiple landowners on a complex onshore wind and battery option arrangement incorporating a complicated corporate structure.
- Acting for a landowner in relation to a 1GW battery storage scheme with complex occupancy arrangements.
- Acting for a landowner on an onshore wind project with a 20MW export capacity.
- Acting for a landowner regarding an option to lease for an anaerobic digestion site development in Lincolnshire, which also involved tax planning and gifting of land.
