Emma Barnard

Emma is currently undertaking her third seat in the Company Commercial team as part of her training contract, which she commenced in September 2025. In this role, she is gaining valuable experience in a wide range of corporate transactions, including share sales and acquisitions, company reorganisations and general corporate advisory work. Her first seat was in the firm's Family team and her second was in our Private Client team.

Emma began her career at Roythornes in 2023 as a Paralegal in the Real Estate team, where she worked with the firm's Conveyancers on a variety of residential and commercial property transactions. She then joined the Family department in August 2024 before starting her training contract.

Emma successfully completed the Civil/Commercial Mediation Training Programme with ADR ODR International and became an ADR ODR Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator in June 2023. She is also looking to further enhance her expertise by undertaking the Digital Dispute Resolution Specialist Diploma.

She graduated from the University of Warwick with a first-class degree in Theatre and Performance Studies in 2021 before being awarded a scholarship to Nottingham Law School, where she completed her LLM in Applied Legal Practice with distinction in July 2025.
