Honor Burges-Lumsden
Honor is a Trainee Solicitor currently seated in our Property Litigation team, where she advises on a wide range of agricultural and commercial property disputes. Her work includes acting for developers and landowners on issues affecting land value and use, rights of way matters, partnership disputes, commercial landlord and tenant matters (including lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954), and disputes involving agricultural tenancies, including those governed by the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986.
Before joining the Litigation team, Honor completed her first seat in the Private Client department. During this time, she supported farming families and business owners with tailored advice across a wide range of matters. Her experience includes preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, establishing trusts, advising on business and estate succession planning (including the implications of the 2024/2025 Autumn Budgets), and assisting clients with Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Stamp Duty Land Tax and Income Tax considerations.
Prior to beginning her training contract, Honor worked as a paralegal in the Agricultural Property and Natural Resources team. There, she gained valuable experience supporting clients on rural and land based matters, further strengthening her understanding of the legal issues affecting the agricultural sector.
Working between our Spalding and Alconbury offices, Honor brings a strong agricultural background through both her academic studies and her family’s farming roots. This gives her a practical insight and understanding when advising rural clients and dealing with matters involving agricultural property and land use.
Honor graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Agribusiness Management before completing her GDL and LPC at the University of Law in London, achieving a Distinction.
