All charities are overseen by their trustees. They give up their time, energy and expertise on a voluntary basis and are responsible for the governance, strategy and overall operation of the charity.

The Charity Commission, the independent regulator for charities in England and Wales, estimates that there are 700,000 charity trustees in England and Wales and Petr Latham are keen to do their best to support trustees and provide them with the resources and guidance they need to fulfil their roles and meet their legal obligations.

As part of this, the Charity Commission has now launched a quiz to help charity trustees test their skills and knowledge. The quiz is 10 questions long and takes around 5 minutes to complete. Each question focusses on how trustees would respond to a range of real life situations on a multiple choice basis.

Paul Latham, Director of Communications and Policy at the Charity Commission, is encouraging all charity trustees to take the quiz saying “it’s quick and designed to be fun, but it will also help you assess your own knowledge and take action to address any areas in which you might need more support and training”.

You can take the quiz here. If you score 10/10 then well done! If you don’t then please do contact us to see how Roythornes can support you, and others at your charity with any gaps in knowledge that you uncover.
