Roythornes sponsor AIMS conference

Leading food and drink law firm Roythornes has signed up to sponsor the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers’ (AIMS) annual conference.

The organisation’s annual conference will take place on 19 September at the Shrigley Hall Hotel in Cheshire.

As well as the Chairman of the trade body, John Thorley OBE, who will open the conference, speakers confirmed include Neil Parish MP, Chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee and Professor Patrick Wall, Founder Management Board Member and 2nd Chairperson of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Ed Garner, Director of the Kantar World Panel and Jason Feeney, Chief Operating Officer of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) make up the remainder of the conference programme.

Speaking about the conference, Tim Russ, partner in the Roythornes Food team, said: “We are delighted to support such an important sector of the market in a challenging time.

“Independent meat processors are a vital cog in the UK’s food machine and require high-quality, consistent support and representation such as that offered by AIMS.

“The insight on offer from the likes of Kantar is second to none and there is no doubt the conference will be a great success.”

AIMS represents over 250 small and medium-sized independent businesses in the slaughtering and further processing market across England and Wales.

The association deals with over half of the nation's animals, including traditional, ethnic and other specialist market requirements.
