Real Estate heavyweight joins Roythornes

Legal heavyweight Bhavesh Amlani has made a move to rapidly expanding Midlands law firm Roythornes.

Bhavesh, who was formerly a sector head at Birmingham-based Shoosmiths overseeing more than £21 million of business, has taken the role of partner within Roythornes’ growing property team. He also takes a place on the Roythornes board.

Bhavesh’s colleague Benjamin Smith, a real estate and development senior associate solicitor at Shoosmiths, joins him along with senior associate Emily Danson, and plot sales conveyancer Sarah Ward.

Bhavesh said: “I wanted to join Roythornes because of the company’s ambitious expansion plans and the way that the business creates huge opportunities for individuals.

“Roythornes is a well-known and rapidly growing company with excellent property expertise. It has a solid East Midlands base and a growing presence in Cambridgeshire. My move to Roythornes creates a perfect synergy between the East and West Midlands among both new and existing clients.”

Bhavesh has extensive experience of working with major plc clients in addition to a wide variety of property organisations and investors. He was at Shoosmiths for more than four years.

Vember Mortlock, managing director of Roythornes, said: “We have been speaking to Bhavesh for some time. We felt there was an ideal fit between his team and Roythornes.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Roythornes and a step forward in meeting our objective of significantly building the national property team across the UK. Roythornes has bold plans for the future and we see Bhavesh and his team being a major part of our success.”

Bhavesh’s team will be working closely with Jo Ladds, Roythornes partner and expert in commercial property, and Shruti Trivedi, who heads the planning team.
