Food specialist serves up legal advice on a plate

City law firm Roythornes has renewed its membership of the Food and Drink Forum, one of the major trade associations for the food industry in the region.

The food and drink industry plays a major part in the region’s economy and Roythornes has a specialist team dealing with the sector.  Being part of the Food and Drink Forum gives the firm access to the very latest industry news and information and enables them to network with a range of businesses with a common interest.

As well at being part of a specialised association, Roythornes also runs the Forums’ legal helpline, which answers legal enquiries from members.

Peter Bennett, who heads up the firm’s food sector team said:

“We run a number of helplines for trade associations as they provide a valuable service to members and act as a ‘sounding board’ for issues they may have.  So many times, difficult situations could be avoided if firms had spoken to us first and by using the helpline members can tackle problems before they escalate.”

The Food & Drink Forum works with a range of organisations throughout the East Midlands to provide support, training, advice, information, and development opportunities to firms in the food and drink sector. A member-led organisation established in 1998, their ultimate aim is to stimulate and support the sustainable development of the industry across the region.
