Employment law summit launched

Employers have the opportunity to bring themselves up to date with one of the trickiest areas of the law at a seminar in September.

The Employment Law Summit is being jointly hosted by Roythornes Solicitors and Stafforce Recruitment and takes place at the Ramada Hotel in Grantham, on 20th September.

The key issues covered include an employment law update, a review of the Agency Workers Regulations, and a look at the dangers of social media in the workplace.

Speaking about the event, Roythornes’ Mark Dodds said:

“It’s a great opportunity for HR mangers to get up to speed on key issues on the law.  We will cover a lot of ground at the Summit and hope anyone with responsibility for HR will attend.”

Tony Boorman, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Stafforce recruitment said:

“The Agency Workers Regulations were introduced just over a year ago and this is an ideal opportunity to catch up with its practical implementation and to iron out any issues.  We know from experience there are many firms out there who may not be fully up to speed with their obligations and we will be explaining what they should be doing and why.”

Maz Dannourah, a solicitor at Roythornes said:

“Social media blurs the boundaries between work and home life and can cause many issues for employers they could never have envisaged.  Subjects to be covered include the accessing of social media whilst at work, and the implications of employees posting messages about their employers or customers."

The Summit is free to attend and anyone interesting in attending should contact Mark Dodds at Roythornes on 01775 842596, for further details and to register.
