Agency Workers Regulations, Age Discrimination and the dangers of social media in the workplace were just three of the hot topics being discussed at the 2012 Employment Law Summit, which was run by law firm Roythornes and recruitment company Stafforce.
Over 70 delegates attended the event, which was held at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Grantham and featured keynote speakers Peter Bennett and Maz Dannourah of Roythornes and Tony Boorman of Stafforce.
According to Mark Dodds, marketing manager at Roythornes, the event was a great success. He said: “We were very pleased with the response, as it proved that there is a real need for an event such as this in the region, where employers can get up to speed with what is always a complicated area of the law."
Highlights of the event were an update of the changes in employment law relating to age discrimination, delegates were given an in-depth look at the impact of the Agency Workers Regulations almost 12 months since their launch, as well as a fascinating insight into the potentially damaging use by employees of social media within the workplace.
