Whilst studying for my undergraduate degree in Law, I was looking for a training contract with a highly reputable firm where I would be trained by experts in their field and enabled to flourish. I came across an advertisement for the “At Home With Roythornes” evening, and I was fortunate enough to secure a training contract through winning a first stage interview at the event.

Following on from work placements with leading law firms across England and Northern Ireland, I knew that I wanted to work for Roythornes because of its strong commercial reputation, especially within the property sector. The breadth of work available during my first seat in the Property Development team allowed me to work with a variety of fee earners on complex, commercial property matters. I was immediately impressed by the focus on creating longstanding relationships with clients and the genuine expertise within the departments.

Roythornes supported me for the year whilst undertaking my Legal Practice Course, and upon joining the firm I was encouraged to continue my development by attending webinars. Outside of work, I am fortunate that my first two seats have allowed me to regularly attend networking events for the firm, from dinners to informal get-togethers. Further to this, the young lawyers of the firm regularly take part in social events across Lincolnshire, Peterborough and Nottingham.
