Careers at Roythornes

Michelle Moore

I completed my law degree in 2014 and having considered the options following graduation I thought it would be beneficial for me to study the LPC part time as well as gaining hands-on legal experience as a paralegal. As soon as I interviewed at Roythornes I knew it was the place I wanted to begin and develop my career. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and there was always someone willing to help no matter how silly the question.

I began the LPC in September 2014 on a part-time basis and Roythornes was supportive and gave me ample study time; the bursary also helped with my fees too.

I was offered a training contract after a year of working as a paralegal and the move from paralegal to trainee has certainly been a steep learning curve. I am currently undertaking my first seat in the property litigation department and have already represented clients in court on my own and conducted a small claims mediation. Whilst the responsibility is at times daunting, my supervisor is always on hand and we have a great line of communication so the support I need is always provided.

Roythornes is a great place to develop your career as they truly care about your progression. The client base is so wide ranging and the types of cases the firm deals with is so diverse you gain great exposure to a variety of complex and often unique legal issues no matter what department you’re in.
