Spalding Office Day

George Faulkner

After completing my undergraduate degree in law, I was looking for a training contract at a firm with a strong commercial reputation that would be able to provide an excellent level of training and a good work life balance. I applied to Roythornes on this basis, and after going through the interview process and having had a chance to talk to current trainees about their experiences I had no doubt in my mind that Roythornes was where I wanted to be.

I was given responsibility from day one of my training contract. I am constantly learning new skills and developing my knowledge through the varied and challenging tasks I work on. The learning curve can seem steep, but with the supervision I receive from other fee earners I never feel out of my depth – if I am struggling I feel comfortable asking for assistance, even if I feel like the question I have is silly!

Outside of work, there is a whole array of networking and social events to get involved with. For example, I have taken part in a cricket match against one of our clients and a treasure hunt in Nottingham.
