Whilst searching for training contracts, Roythornes stood out to me as offering the opportunities for real work of a smaller firm with the higher-profile clients and numerous practice areas of a large firm. This is exactly what I was looking for.
During the interview process, I had the opportunity to meet a variety of people at the firm, including trainees, partners and support staff. Everyone I met was approachable and welcoming, and it felt like the interviewers genuinely wanted to get to know me rather than perform a box-ticking exercise.
As soon as I started my training contract at Roythornes I was taken aback by the amount of responsibility I was given from day one. Within my first week I found myself attending meetings, having meaningful phone calls with clients, and drafting important documents. It was a far cry from the stereotype of the tea-making trainee.
Now nearing the end of my first seat in Litigation, I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities which will come with my next seat.
