"Roythornes has embraced my individuality, enabling me to flourish within the firm."
Born and bred in Newcastle, I consider myself a true Geordie, however, I could not resist the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s leading solicitors thus resulting in a move from the city life of Newcastle to the rural town of Spalding.
Following a variety of work experience placements, ranging from governmental legal departments to criminal and commercial firms, I knew I wanted to work within a commercially focused law firm and decided to look into Roythornes. Having thoroughly researched the firm prior to applying, I decided Roythornes met my criteria as a successful firm with aspirations of future growth and development.
I was anxious that my personality may become squashed in a larger commercial organisation; however Roythornes has embraced my individuality, enabling me to flourish within the firm.
Although I was not initially enthusiastic about starting my training contract within the Personal Injury department, since joining the team, I have enjoyed my experience enormously. I did not anticipate the responsibility trainees are given as I am expected to manage my own caseload and have numerous files under my own name. This responsibility is, of course, monitored with precise balance between freedom and supervision by my supervisor, Robert Dempsey.
