I felt like a valued member of the firm - not 'just a trainee'.
Trainee Applications
Your qualifications
We recruit graduates with at least a 2:1 degree, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. We do not insist you have a law degree, or that you join us straight after university – what we are looking for is your potential to be a real asset to our team.
The closing date for applications is 29th January 2021. All applications will be reviewed and we will let you know whether we will be inviting you to interview by the end of February.
Candidates will be invited to attend an initial interview between 8 - 10 March 2021. This will consist of an Interview with three of our partners, including our Training Principal. You will have the opportunity to discuss your CV and find out more about Roythornes. We will also ask you to undertake a short written task.
Successful candidates will then be invited to return for our second round of interviews between 22 - 23 March 2021. You will be invited to a spend the day in our offices in Spalding. The morning will consist of several realistic examples of work which will require completion under normal working conditions. After this, you will have a more in-depth interview with four of our partners, including a discussion of your performance during the morning’s exercises.
Please prepare for the interviews as fully as you can. We receive a huge number of applications and try to interview all those who we feel are suitable, so you must try to demonstrate what makes you stand out from the crowd.
Starting your training with us
At the start of your training contract you will go through the firm’s in-house induction process, followed by a professional skills course at the Nottingham Law School.
