Due to the current COVID 19 crisis we are putting all our recruitment, summer vacation, work experience and apprenticeship opportunities at Roythornes on hold until further notice. This is a very uncertain time for us all and this decision was a difficult one for Roythornes, as we pride ourselves on our record for providing high standard opportunities for both careers and training.
We hope we will be able to provide a clear position as to when we can continue with our recruitment and work experience activities very soon. We are all working hard to make this happen, as soon as we can. We want to make a career in law more accessible to local students who aspire to become lawyers, so we are offering the Solicitor Apprenticeship (Level 7).
This six-year programme of combined study and paid work will help budding solicitors to secure a law degree via the apprenticeship route as an alternative to full-time study at university. Once the course is completed, and you've passed the requisite exams, you will qualify as a solicitor. During the apprenticeship, you will spend four days of the week at Roythornes' Spalding office benefiting from peer support, receiving guidance and instruction from our training manager and on-the-job experience, learning through practical day-to-day experience. The fifth day each week will be for studying - the majority of which time will be spent in guided self-study, combined with attending lectures and seminars once a month during academic term time. You will also be regularly assessed and sit end-of-year exams.

Your training with us will be very much led by our training manager and our highly-regarded partners who take a practical, positive approach to nurturing new talent, giving you the chance to take on responsibility quickly.
You will spend time in different departments, carrying out work supervised by solicitors and often partners. In addition, you will have a personal mentor who will be your first point of contact for all questions. Depending on what’s happening firm-wide during your apprenticeship, there will be opportunities to attend lunch time seminars, meetings and external events.
Roythornes is a highly successful, commercial practice with a strong focus on agriculture and rural estates, the food sector and commercial property. Our client base is national but we are an integral part of the community in which we are based and, as such, we would like to open up an amazing opportunity to local pupils; to have our support when they are embarking on a career in law.

Entry level requirements through the course provider are a minimum of A Level grades at B,B,B (or equivalent). We do not insist that you join us straight after school – what we are looking for is your potential to be a real asset to our team.
