| Increase in debt recovery work indicates the importance of credit control and cash flow . 26/01/2009 With the UK officially in recession, companies need to be giving even greater focus to their credit control procedures, and be aware of the dangers of under-resourcing this critical area of business management.
That is the advice of Kate Robbins, debt recovery manager at city based solicitors Roythornes, who reported an increase of nearly 40% in the volume of debt recovery instructions during 2008, and are now looking for further members to add to their already strong team. Kate said "The sharp increase in business over the year is a clear indication of the problems businesses are facing. Looking at our figures, the volume of instructions increased throughout the year, but most rapidly from July 2008 onwards, which is when the credit crunch really started to bite."
