| Cautious Welcome for rescue proposal 13/01/2009 A rescue plan aimed at saving the struggling house building industry has been cautiously welcomed, as a positive move in a difficult market. The proposal, by the House Builders Federation, would see Housing Associations being asked to guarantee they would buy house builders unsold stock of property, enabling them to continue building.
But the scheme has had a cautious welcome from Property Specialists at Roythorne Christmas solicitors. Speaking about the move, Property Director and Social Housing specialist Robbie ODriscoll said: On the face of it, the plan sounds like a great way to kick start the housing market and save the building industry, but there we have a few concerns over the proposal at this stage. One of the main sticking points would be the quality and energy efficiency of the properties.
