| City Solicitors get 'Fresh' into business advice 11/01/2011 City solicitors Roythornes have joined the national forum for the fresh produce industry in a move which demonstrates their commitment to, and expertise in, the sector.
The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC), which is based in Lynchwood Peterborough, is the voice of the UKs fresh produce industry – representing its members to both the UK Government and EU Commission on a wide range of issues from food labelling to health and import legislation. The FPC actively supports and promotes the benefits fresh produce brings to the health and economy of the nation.
Roythornes is one of the top 200 law firms in the UK and has one of the largest and most respected food industry practices in the region and see joining the FPC is a natural progression.
Speaking about the move, Peter Bennett who heads up the firms Food team said:
"The food industry is one of the major sectors in the region, and people would be amazed to discover just how much of the fresh produce they eat on a daily basis comes from within a few miles of where they live. We advise a large number of fresh produce businesses on UK and international matters and as the FPC is a champion of the sector, we're delighted to be on board."
Nigel Jenny, Chief Executive of the FPC said:
"Fresh produce is a multi million pound industry and we need to ensure our members have the very best advice available. We have known Peter and the team at Roythornes for a number of years and they provide first class advice backed up by in-depth sector knowledge. We look forward to working closely with them in the future to enhance our Business Services portfolio for members." |
